Farewell to the Black Knight

The Masters finished up with a bang on Easter Sunday, with former caddie Angel Cabrera winning in a sudden-death playoff.  Another noteworthy event that occurred was Gary Player  making his 52nd and final U.S. Masters appearance.  South African Player, known as the Black Knight, was the final remaining member of the “big three” of golfing to retire after the Masters.  He followed the lead of Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus.

Player, a three-time Masters champion, was given a long standing ovation by the crowed following his final putt.  He was joined by Fuzzy Zoeller, the 1979 Masters winner, who also played his last competitive round at this year’s Masters. Both of these giants of the game will be missed.
