The Show Low Farmers Market and Art Fair will be adding some excitement to the streets of Show Low every Saturday from May 15 to October 16. More than 60 booths will be offering a wide variety of locally produced food and craft items. Live entertainment makes this a fun event for the entire family.

The Show Low Farmers Market and Art Fair takes place in Downtown Show Low near the famous Cardplayers statue. Don’t miss out on this chance to meet and greet your fellow Show Lowers while sampling the excellent food and crafts of the White Mountains region. In addition to Show Low, the White Mountains area of Arizona includes the communities of Snowflake, Pinetop-Lakeside, Springerville, Eagar, St. Johns, Taylor and Heber-Overgaard. A wealth of winter recreational opportunities are available in the Arizona White Mountains, including skiing, snowboarding, sledding and tubing. Quaint towns provide shopping venues for antiques and Native American crafts.

For history buffs, there is the Trail of Many Tracks historic driving trail. In Springerville, the Casa Malpais Ruins date back to the 13th century and are considered to be one of the finest archaeological sites in the Southwest. These are just two examples of the historic locations to be visited in the White Mountains.

Sunrise Park Resort is a Skier’s Paradise

It’s the season for skiing in the White Mountains near Show Low. Sunrise Park Resort is the premier ski resort in the area, located 35 miles from Show Low and close to the New Mexico border. Sunrise Park Resort is a year round vacation destination that becomes a snowy wonderland in winter. Operated by the White Mountain Apache Tribe, the resort is built near 3 mountains and features 65 ski runs. Skiers of all levels will find excitement on the slopes of Sunrise Park Resort and the Hon-Dah Resort Casino is close by for off-the-slopes entertainment.

Lake of the Woods Arizona

Lake of the Woods is a family-run resort that features over two dozen individual cabins situated around a picturesque private lake. Many of the cabins date back to the 1930s, though there are also some new cabins available. Fishing is available at Lake of the Woods, with the 12-acre lake is stocked several times in the spring and fall with rainbow trout and row boat rentals available. The resort is in Lakeside, Arizona, just a few miles from Show Low. Winter sports are also available in the nearby White Mountains. If you’re looking for a rustic alternative to the usual motels, try renting a cabin at the Lake of the Woods Resort.

Fools Hollow Lake Recreation Area

For visitors to the Show Low area, the Fools Hollow Lake Recreation Area offers 850 acres which includes a lake and sites for recreation vehicles, campers and tents. Located at an elevation of 6300 feet, the recreation area offers all of the beauty of the White Mountains. Show Low Creek feeds into Fools Hollow Lake, providing a natural feeding ground for wildlife and an abundance of fish species. Fishing opportunities are abundant at Fools Hollow Lake. Swimming and boating are also popular activities at the lake.
